DNS Not Validating

Troubleshooting for validating a custom domain.

Have you sent the 3 DNS records to your IT administrator to have them added to your respective DNS provider?
  • If yes, please send a screenshot of the 3 DNS records that have been created in your DNS provider to support@visible.vc with the name of the DNS provider. DNS providers range from Cloudflare to Amazon Route 53 (there are hundreds!).
  • If not, please send the 3 DNS records to your IT administration and have them added before proceeding.

In addition to the above, if you are receiving an error and are not able to validate your domain in Visible, here are quick steps you can take to troubleshoot. p.s. here is a list of the known providers that you'll need to change the DNS records for:

  • Google Domains

  • GoDaddy

  • Cloudflare
  • OnlyDomains

  • Namecheap

  • Squarespace

You will need to edit or create the following 3 CNAME records in your DNS provider.

host: visibleupdate
value: u170206.wl207.sendgrid.net

host: vbl._domainkey
value: vbl.domainkey.u170206.wl207.sendgrid.net

host: vbl2._domainkey
value: vbl2.domainkey.u170206.wl207.sendgrid.net

Note: The records above will differ slightly from the hosts provided in Visible (your domain is removed). Unfortunately, DNS is not standardized and every provider is different.

Once you save those changes in your DNS, allow 1-3 hours for them to propagate. Then, try validating again.

If it still fails, give support a chat here, and we will continue to help troubleshoot. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
