This article is for startups who have an account with Visible and they receive a Request from an investor who is also using Visible.
To share data with an investor through a Request in Visible, first log into your account and head to Received Requests at the bottom left. When you click on Received requests you will be able to view any previous or current data Requests from your investors. From this screen you should click on Start request. This will open the request for you. Once you input your data, you should click Submit response and you will see a success screen that it has been successfully submitted.
From there, you can click into these Requests and fill out by entering the data or you can sync your data to Requests.
Data that investors will often ask for is quarterly:
Revenue
Gross profit
Cash balance
Burn rate
Runway
Operating expenses
EBITDA
See below for step-by-step directions below.
Step One: Open Visible and click on Received requests
To open the request, begin by clicking Received requests at the bottom left side of your screen.
Step Two: Click Start request to begin filling in the data requested by your investors.
Click Start request on the right side of your screen to fill out the request form.
Step Three: Input the requested information.
Fill in the requested information.
*Note that you can link your metrics so that the information will auto-populate if you fill out the metrics in your Visible instance. To learn more about how to do this, check out this article.
Step Four: Click Save draft if multiple users are assisting with updating the requested information or click Submit response to send the request to your Investors.
If you are filling out the requested information with multiple users, click Save draft for your work to be saved. If you are the only user completing the Request and are finished, select Submit response.
*Note that when multiple users are working on the same request, we recommend they not work on the request at the same time to avoid overriding each other's progress. ie One user should complete their sections, click Save draft, and then the other person can complete their section.
Optional Step Five: Draft an AI generated Investor Update based on your submitted Investor request
You can optionally create an email update using AI to share your businesses progress with your existing and potential investors using the information from your request.
Step six: Confirm your Request is sent.
Once you've submitted your request, you can go back into Received requests and see the information you have previously submitted. It will have a green 'Completed' next to it
Step Seven: View your historical requests.
To view your historical request, click into the specific request.
