How to use the AI Request Builder

The AI Request Builder lets you describe a request in plain language and AI drafts the request for you, including questions and metrics, so you can review and send it in minutes.

Step One: Navigate to Requests and select +New Request.

Click Requests from the navigation menu and then select +New Request in the top right side of your screen.

Step Two: Select Generate your request content with AI, choose the type of request you want to create, and then click Continue.

Choose Generate your request content with AI, pick the type of request to create, and then select Continue.

Step Three: Describe the request you want to create. Then select Generate Request.

Tell the AI Request Builder what you want to ask your portfolio companies for. Then, click Generate Request.

Step Four: Let AI generate a draft.

Once you hit Generate, the AI Request Builder writes the full request for you. This includes a request name, an email subject line, and an intro message to your companies. You will see a short loading state while this happens, and then you will be dropped into the editor to review everything that was drafted.

Step Five: Review the questions, metrics and other settings.

The AI drafts a complete set of question blocks for you to review, including metrics that are automatically matched to the metrics you already track (even if the wording does not match exactly), along with paragraph questions, file upload requests, numbers, dates, dropdowns, multi select options, and yes/no questions. Read through each block in the Content tab and edit anything that needs adjusting before moving on.

Step Six: Confirm the Schedule, the Companies, and the Settings. Then, click Set request live.

Finish by choosing which companies or segments should receive the request, since the AI Request Builder does not select recipients automatically in this version. If it is a recurring request, set your schedule in the editor and add any specific settings needed. Once everything looks right, send your request as usual.
