How to link to another page or folder in your Data Room

Building a table of contents and internal navigation in your Data Room

Written by Nick Kramer

Visible's Data Room Page Linking feature lets you link directly to folders and items within your Data Room from any page or cover letter. This makes it easy to build a table of contents in your cover letter, point viewers to a specific section, or guide investors through your materials in the order you want.

This article is organized into the following sections:

Adding a Data Room Link

Step One: Open the page or cover letter. Type / or click the + button to open the content block menu & click Link to folder or Item.

From within a Data Room page or cover letter, place your cursor where you want the link to appear. Then type the slash command (/) or click the + button to bring up the content block menu. Next, click Link to Folder or Item.

Step Two: Choose the folder or item you want to link to from the dropdown.

A dropdown selector will appear showing the folders and items in your Data Room. Click the folder or item you want to link to, and it will be inserted into the page.

Removing a Data Room Link

Step One: Click over the linked item and click the close button to remove it.

Once a link has been added, hover over it to reveal a close (delete) button. Click it to remove the linked item from the page or cover letter.

Things to Know

  • This feature works for all Data Room sharing methods, including Data Rooms that require an email to view.

  • You can link to top-level folders and items in your Data Room. Linking to subfolders and third-level folders is not currently supported.
