When reviewing metrics extracted by the AI Inbox, you can now verify exactly where a value came from, without leaving your review flow. This feature lets you trace any extracted metric back to its source, whether that's a specific page in an attachment or the email body itself.
Step One: Open the AI Inbox and navigate to an update pending review.
Open the email or document that you've added to the AI inbox.
Step Two: Click the three dots next to the specific metric and then select "View source".
Choose the three dots next to the metric. Then, select View source.
Step Three: View the value highlighted in purple.
The source data will then be highlighted in purple. You can then continue with your approval workflow.
Source Types
Not all metrics have the same source type. Here's what to expect depending on where a value was extracted from:
Source Type | "View source" behavior |
Attachment (PDF) | Opens the attachment, navigates to the correct page, and highlights the bounding box |
Email body | "View source" appears but is disabled. A tooltip explains the value was extracted from the email body |
Manually entered | "View source" appears but is disabled. A tooltip indicates the value was entered by a user |
Notes
Source tracing is available for metrics extracted from PDF attachments that have been processed through Visible's document pipeline.
Attachments are automatically converted and prepared for preview when they arrive via email or upload. No action is needed on your part.
This feature applies to the inbox review flow and carries that source fidelity through into the portfolio file import flow.
