Granola Notes to Visible (Claude Skill)

Push your Granola call notes summary to Visible Notes and add metrics to your AI Inbox for review.

Written by Nick Kramer

After a portfolio company call, someone still has to go back, write up what happened, and decide whether any numbers that came up need to get logged separately so they show up in your metrics. This skill does that part. Point it at the past week of Granola calls and it files a clean summary on the right company in Visible, and separately logs anything financial so Visible can pull it into your metrics.

Setup

1. Download this Skill file: granola-notes-to-visible.skill

2. Upload it in Claude under Settings > Capabilities > Skills.

3. Nothing else to configure. The skill reads your portfolio company list from Visible directly, so there's no mapping step to set up first.

Running it

Tell Claude something like:

  • "Sync my Granola notes to Visible"

  • "Log this week's calls in Visible"

  • "Push my meeting notes over"

By default it looks at the last 7 days. If you want a different window, just say so, "sync the last two weeks" works fine.

What it actually does

The instructions below are packaged into the skill file. You don't need them to use it, but here's what's happening under the hood.

Matching calls to companies. Claude pulls your full portfolio list from Visible, then goes through the past week of Granola meetings and matches each one by title and attendees. Internal meetings, prospect calls, and anything that doesn't clearly belong to a portfolio company get left out. If a call could plausibly belong to more than one company, say a syndicate call with two portfolio companies on it, Claude asks you once rather than guessing.

Writing the note. For each matched call, Claude writes a short summary in its own words: what was discussed, updates, decisions, anything that needs following up on. Not a transcript dump, something you could skim in under a minute. That gets filed on the company as a note in Visible.

Catching the numbers. If a call included real figures, revenue, ARR, burn, cash, headcount, growth, anything like that, Claude also creates a separate inbox item with just that content, so Visible can extract it into your tracked metrics. A call that was all strategy and no numbers skips this step entirely.

Handling reruns. If you run this twice over an overlapping window, Claude checks first and won't file the same call twice, for either the note or the metrics item. Two separate calls with the same company on the same day are treated as two calls, not a duplicate of each other.

Handling thin calls. If a meeting shows up in Granola but there's genuinely nothing substantive in the notes or transcript, Claude skips it rather than filing a near-empty note, and tells you it was skipped.

When it's done

Claude tells you how many calls it looked at, how many matched a portfolio company, how many notes and inbox items got created, how many were skipped as already-existing, and any calls it couldn't confidently match or had to leave out for lack of content.

Worth knowing

  • Reading from Granola is read-only. Writing the note and the metrics item to Visible are the two actions that create something, they're the whole point of running the skill, so Claude does both without asking permission per call, but the end-of-run summary is there so you can catch a bad match quickly.

  • This runs when you ask for it. It doesn't watch your calendar or fire on its own, if you want it weekly, you'll need to trigger it yourself or set up a recurring reminder.

  • Claude won't invent details that weren't actually in the call. If something's unclear or missing, it says so rather than filling in a guess.
