This article walks through how to set up Portfolio Digests that you can send to Slack, share via email, or both.
Step One: Select Portfolio Activity and then click Digests.
Go to Portfolio Activity in Visible and open the new Digests panel. This is where every digest your team has set up lives. Depending on your permissions, you can create and edit digests here. Each digest shows where it sends, when it last sent, and when it sends next.
Step Two: Create a new digest and select the content that is used to generate the summary.
Click + New digest at the top right side of your screen. Then give it a name and choose which items should be included in to generated the summary. Each send covers everything that happened since the previous one.
Step Three: Define the schedule for when the Digest should be sent.
Choose a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly cadence, along with the hour you want it to go out. Digests send in your company's time zone, and the local send time stays the same through daylight saving changes.
Step Four: Determine which companies should be included.
Choose which companies should be included in the digest. The settings will automatically default to all portfolio companies, so toggle this off and click + Add companies to open the company selector.
Step Five: Choose where the digest is sent.
Send the digest to a Slack channel, by email to specific people in your organization, or both. Email recipients are checked against their current access each time a digest sends. People who have lost access will not receive it, and neither will limited users who cannot see every company in the digest. If you need to connect Slack, click the Connect Slack link to go to your settings.
Step Six: Add custom instructions if there is specific information you want included in the AI summary.
Include any specific information you want included in the portfolio digest in the Custom prompt section.
Step Seven: Select Create digest to set it live.
Switch the digest on when you are ready. You can pause it at any time, and when you resume it, it picks up at its next scheduled send. In the Digests panel you can open a digest's delivery log and preview exactly what was sent.
What is in each digest
Each company in a digest has a short facts line showing how its metrics moved compared with the prior fiscal period, followed by a brief AI-written summary. The numbers always come from your stored data, and the summary is based only on the linked source material, so you can click through to check any claim.
If a send fails, nothing is lost. The next successful send covers everything since the last digest that went out. If you expected a digest that never arrived, check that digest's delivery log first.
